Our Short History
How We Started Our Restaurant
Located in the heart of historic Alton, Illinois, My Just Desserts is a charming and cozy restaurant that offers a delightful escape for dessert lovers and food enthusiasts alike. Housed in a beautifully restored 19th-Centruy building, formerly home of the old Krug Flower Shop, our restaurant exudes an old-world charm that complements its menu of homemade pies, cakes, and other delectable treats. Each day, the menu changes to feature an array of seasonal and freshly prepared desserts, as well as savory options like hearty soups, and sandwiches. There's bound to be something on the menu that charms your palate endlessly!
Whether you're indulging in a slice of our famous Mrs. Ledbetter Pie or our Tollhouse Brownie, or savoring one of our Large Chef and Signature Salads with your choice of Salmon or Chicken, My Just Desserts promises a warm and inviting ambience perfect for lunch, a sweet snack, or a relaxing afternoon tea and an unobstructed view of the Mississippi River. A few of the recipes that made My Just Desserts famous are our Mrs. Ledbetter Chocolate pie and 1/2 lb Chicken Salad Sandwich. Although we won't share our secret recipe, rest assured that every single serving of our Chicken Salad, totaling half a pound, is crafted with care in our kitchen.
If it's not our irresistible Chicken Salad that keeps our guest coming back, it's definitely our pies! Every morning we bake a variety of pies, showcased on our menu board. And don't forget about our delicious cobblers, cookies, and brownies! With such a wide selection, there's always something on our menu that will delight your taste buds. Dining here feels like stepping back in time to Grandma's house, with creaky hardwood floors and drinks served in Mason jar glasses. We pour love into every dish we serve, and we believe this is why our guests return again and again.
